Building Owleyes (with just me, a laptop, and ChatGPT)

Hey you,

I’m Ranjeeth — the one and only person behind Owleyes.

Yes, you read that right. There’s no big team here. No investors (yet), no social media manager, no fancy studio setup. Just me, my laptop, a small room full of leather samples, and a huge dream I refuse to give up on.

And yes… I’ve been using ChatGPT like my digital co-founder. From writing this blog to figuring out what the heck an SEO checklist looks like — it’s been my 24/7 sounding board.

So here it is — my first blog post. Not perfect. Not polished. But real.

So, what is Owleyes?

Owleyes is a footwear brand I started because I genuinely wanted to make something better. Not just in terms of design or quality — but better in terms of values.

I grew up around people who work with their hands. I’ve always admired good craftsmanship — especially in leather. But when I looked around, most of what we get today is either overpriced or mass-produced with no heart.

I wanted to change that. Even if just a little. Even if just for a few people who actually care.

Let’s be honest — this is hard.

When I started, I had no idea how many hats I’d have to wear. Founder, designer, photographer, website developer, marketing guy, customer support, accountant… the list doesn’t end. And while I have no regrets, there have been some really hard days.

There were nights when I stared at the Wix editor for hours just trying to fix the footer. Days when orders didn’t come in and I kept refreshing the site like it would magically change. Mornings where I’d wonder, “What if I’m just wasting time?”

But every time I hit a wall, I found a way to climb it. Even if it meant Googling “how to write a product description” or asking ChatGPT to help me explain my own vision in words.

It’s messy. It’s not a smooth ride. But it’s mine.

Why I’m still showing up

Because despite everything — the self-doubt, the delays, the low budget, the sleepless nights — I believe in Owleyes. I believe in what I’m building. I believe in doing things slowly, consciously, and without shortcuts.

And every time someone says, “Hey, this looks amazing,” — it gives me enough fuel to keep going.

What's next?

Right now, I’m focusing on:

• Launching in small batches (because I can’t afford to waste)

• Improving the website (again, with ChatGPT’s help 😅)

• Getting Owleyes in front of the right people — slowly, organically

• And eventually... making smart footwear that's not just cool, but actually useful

I don’t have all the answers. But I’m learning. And I promise I’ll keep showing up, doing my best.
